Homeschool - November

November was kind of an unusual month in terms of school since we were sick or in quarantine for a lot of it.  We did our best and enjoyed homeschool flexibility, doing projects, art, and reading.  We also played outside a lot once we were feeling better and tackled quite a few Thanksgiving themed lessons.

Livi designed her own bird house from found materials...a cereal box, paper straw and some string.

On my first day back in action after being sick, Simon and Olivia decided on a parade. Recorders, pitch pipes, bells, and drums made for a stately entrance.

The kids made an All About Me project, cutting pictures and words out of magazines that best describe them.  They LOVED this and spent a really long time working on it.

Olivia has really been enjoying playing salon lately.

The first snow was so exciting!  The kids loved playing in it!

According to Olivia, "This is what cool looks like."

Post quarantine snuggles.

Simon and Olivia made confetti muffins.

The kids made gratitude books and did Thanksgiving crafts and puzzles.

Simon really likes to line up his trucks and dinosaurs on the different shelves and ledges around the house.

We made a cornucopia of different foods we found around the house.

Nolan wrote this beautiful Thank You poem.

We went to the movie theater for the first time since covid with our girls!  We saw Clifford the Big Red Dog and they all loved it!

Unfortunately, on Thanksgiving Grandma Ruby took a bad fall and broke her femur.  She has since had surgery and is recovering at the rehab center.  We made her some cards and pictures to cheer her up.

Some of the things we are thankful for this year.

Reading time is a great time of the day!
