October Homeschool

Simon has been enjoying his classes at co-op.  He has an art, music, phy-ed, and science class each week.  Here he is making a spider web out of playdoh and plastic sticks.

Builders Club at the library has been lots of fun!

Our first Dart party of the year was for the book, The Lost Whale.  We all really enjoyed learning about ocean mammals and other fascinating things about ocean life.  We had the party at the Wallermann's house and learned about baleens, ocean currents, swim bladders and played ocean mammal jeopardy.  We all had a great time!

We picked our pumpkins from Grandma Patti's garden.

Simon couldn't get up to brush his teeth because he was "being a hotdog."

It is a miracle.  My 11 year old and 8 year old have finally learned to tie their shoes.

Livi and her friend Katie from co-op made this project and presented it to their Scribbler Society class.

Owen came over and we made panoramic artwork for the poem "The Sea of Grass and Endless Sky."

Throughout our Prairie unit this month (We're reading "The Prairie Thief"), we have been working on lots of different handicraft skills - crocheting, cross-stitching, and tin can punching.

Nolan really enjoys his cello lessons and is learning so much!

We illustrated Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Simon was so proud.

We made our own memory quilt squares for our Prairie unit.
