Mother's Day

Mother's Day this year started sweetly with breakfast in bed (both real and pretend food) and sweet cards and snuggles from my babies.  Nolan made the most adorable list of the agenda for the day.  Unfortunately, the follow through of the list didn't quite happen and we had one of the hardest days in a while.  Simon didn't nap.  The kids argued and fought over everything and they refused to clean up their messy rooms.  I didn't get to see my Mom or Eric's Mom or anybody else we normally get to celebrate with on Mother's Day.  Overall, it was just a crummy day.  The good part is is that I'm blessed to be home with these beautiful babies and we'll just try again tomorrow!

Visit to Ms. Kaster

Nolan's teacher, Ms Kaster, really went above and beyond during this time of virtual learning.  She provided challenges, did read-alouds, wrote the kids letters, did zoom meetings, and did her best to maintain classroom community, despite physical distance.  She also lives by herself and especially in this time of isolation, we knew how much she missed her students.  We asked her if we could drop off a small gift for her for Teacher Appreciation Day.  She was delighted and Nolan brought her a flower pot that he painted and planted with a flower, as well as a handmade card.  They were both pretty excited for our porch talk.  It was nice for him to catch up with her and fill her in on all the things he's been up to.  We feel so very fortunate for the teachers who still provided an education and compassion and care for their students, as their job description changed basically overnight.  Teachers, you are heroes during these crazy times and we salute you and your efforts!  Thanks for all you do!

Covid-19 Day 55

- Simon is walking!
- We took a family walk/bike ride at Nicolet College.  It was awesome and so peaceful. 
- We decorated cookies from BC Cakes for Mother's Day tomorrow

COVID-19 Day 50

- Zoom meeting with Nolan's class - Miles wanted to participate
- Nolan's getting so confident on his bike
- Simon's getting curls!!

COVID-19 Day 49

- Simon loves school spaghetti
- Started painting the fireplace

COVID-19 Day 48

- Hogwarts Day...We made potions, did House sorting, and played Harry Potter I Spy
- New hospitalized case in Oneida County - total is now 7

COVID-19 Day 47

- May Day - delivered homemade baskets and muffins to Grandma Ruby, Tom and Sara, and Grandma Patti and Grandpa Steve.
