New Couch

Meet our new (hand-me-down) couch! Tom was gracious enough to pass this on to us, and since our previous couch and loveseat had holes in them, we were thrilled!  It has a pull-out bed, which should be nice on those rare times we need an extra place for someone to sleep and it is so much more comfortable than our last one.  The best part is that we don't have to spend a whole pile on money on a new piece of furniture that our kids are going to wreck and spill on!

New Van

Our three year lease was up on our last Honda van, so today we picked out our new one - a black 2019 Honda Odyssey.  It has lots of fun new bells and whistles and handles with the zippiness and agility of a much  smaller vehicle.  We got our first Odyssey when Nolan was 8 months old after taking a weekend trip to the WI Dells in our Prius and realizing there was just NOT enough room for our family in that tiny little roller skate.  Now that we've gotten used to a van, there's just no going back!

Welcome, Baby Danzinger!

Luke and Annalyse are having a baby!  And the little guy is due only 3 weeks after our baby!  We celebrated Baby Danzinger with a winter themed baby shower last weekend.  Mom and I had a great time making the room sparkle with all the glittery decorations and making the food.  I can't wait to meet my sweet little nephew and to watch our two little boys grow up together! 

How To...

1. Grab some sticks and start building.

Haircut

While I was in Eau Claire for Annalyse's baby shower, I received this picture from Eric.  Our little goblin hid under the table with the kids scissors and decided to give herself a whole new look.  It's hard to tell in the picture, but some of the pieces of hair she cut were only an inch long after she was done.  After I got home and we had a long discussion about who's allowed to use scissors to cut hair, I took her to Katie Kremer's hair salon to see what could be done to patch things up.  We decided it would be best disguised by a bob hair cut.  The little stinker may have done herself a favor because a bob perfectly fits her spunky little personality and makes her look SO cute and mature.  I'm just so thankful she didn't try to give herself bangs!

Cold Snap

Nolan missed a couple of days of school this week due to a polar vortex that brought record breaking cold to the area.  I have seen some wicked windchills over the years, but I don't ever remember seeing windchill lows of nearly -50!  We are grateful for our warm and cozy house and hope some more seasonable weather is ahead!

1000 Books!

In January, the library held a congratulatory event in January to celebrate all the amazing kids who completed the 1000 Books before Kindergarten program in the past year.  Unfortunately, Liv was super sick with a fever and bronchiolitis the night of the event and had to stay home.  But, Mrs. C presented her with her certificate and free book this past week in acknowledgement of her achievement.  We're so proud of both of our kids and their love of books and reading.  Livi's current favorites are Llama Llama, Pete the Cat, and books about horses or princesses.  We hope that our commitment to reading to them as young children will foster in them a lifelong love of learning and reading!  Way to go, Livi!  We're proud of you!  Also, another shout out to our wonderful Children's librarians who offer such a wonderful service to our community in their providing of special  programs, nurturing of children, and support of parents.  We are so thankful and appreciative of all they do!
