While Eric and I were away in Hudson, the kids stayed with my parents in Eau Claire and they stayed busy, too! They went down to Durand to visit my Uncle Chris' dairy farm. They picked up Great Grandpa Arnie on the way, and spent the day learning about cows, scoping out the tractors, and letting the little calves suck on their fingers. But the biggest highlight wasn't the cows or the machinery; it was the cats! They were all absolutely smitten.
Back in EC, they spent time playing at Grandma and Grandpa's, paid a visit to Everett, and slept in the camper. They also loved the new swing Grandpa hung up on a big tree.
When we joined them on the evening of the Fourth, we let off a few small fireworks, mostly the black snakes and a few fountains and let them try sparklers for the first time. They absolutely loved them and had so much fun spinning and twirling around.
We're so thankful that my parents were willing to take on our three crazies for a few days to allow Eric and I the opportunity to get away. We all had such a great time!
