Syrup Making

About a year ago, Grandpa Steve decided to start a new Ory family tradition - syrup making!  He spent the past year researching techniques, building the Sugar Shack, and collecting the equipment.  In March it was time for the inaugural run.  Hundreds of maple trees were tapped and outfitted with a blue collection bag.  The bags were emptied each night for several weeks. In total, 2300 gallons of sap were collected.  The sap was then boiled down to super tasty maple syrup, totaling about 51 gallons in all.  I'd say we'll have the tastiest pancakes in the Northwoods!
