It has been a few years since the Eagle River Ice Castle has been able to be built, due to poor weather conditions, so we made sure to take some time to go see it this year! It is built by the Eagle River Fire Department with ice blocks cut from Silver Lake. The intricate designs on the top were beautiful and it was fun to see little bits of sea weed in a few of the blocks of ice. It was a cold day, but we made a fun morning of it with a stop for hot chocolate to warm up afterward.
