Make New Friends...but keep the Old!

Eric and my New Year's resolution this year was to make more time for friends.  While we have been blessed with many different wonderful friends in all the various places we've lived, distance always seems to get in the way of seeing each other and it's so easy to lose touch.  One of my Christmas gifts to him this year was a weekend gathering of some of dearest friends, the Mathieus family, the Carlson family, and the Thompsons.  At the end of February the whole crew came to stay with us.  The plan was that we were going to use the cabin and sled/snowshoe and the like.  Unfortunately, with the world's most painfully cold and snowy winter, we were just not able to be outside.  We stayed at our house and played games and visited, as well as celebrated Brandon's birthday.  It's funny how relationships never really change with true friends.  We laughed until our sides hurt and had a great time enjoying each other's company.
