This past May Nolan completed his 1000 books before Kindergarten program through the Children's Department at our Library. We love our library and attend their weekly storytimes, as well as many of their special events. We were really excited to get an invite in the mail for a celebration party for the graduates of the program!
Mrs. C had a fun evening planned! The kids began by decorating their own car made out of a cardboard box. She had wheels, a customized license plate, a movable steering wheel, and even some old DVDs to glue on for headlights!
After the cars were made, the kids gathered for their "drive-in" movie. They watched a few Halloween movies and chomped down some popcorn. Nolan was in heaven.
After the movies, Mrs. C had a certificate for each child, along with a special book. We're so grateful that Nolan had the opportunity to participate in this program and appreciate the may ways our librarians go above and beyond to make meaningful programs for our family. We hope that this early literacy promotion will help Nolan enjoy a lifetime of reading and the wonderful world of books!
