Grampa's Farm

Last year, we took our first trip to Grampa's Farm in Merrill and we were hooked.  It is such a neat place, filled with friendly people, adorable and well-kept animals, a hay ride, pumpkin patch, corn maze and a plethora of other family friendly activities.  This year we took the grandparents with us which made the day even more fun.

Their petting zoo is awesome.  The animals are so tame and let the kids crawl all over them.  Nolan was so excited to see the different animals.  Surprisingly, Livi was NOT feeling it.  She started sobbing the instant I set her down near the little black pony and clung onto Mommy or Daddy the rest of the time. I LOVED that sweet little black pony and couldn't get enough of the adorable baby donkey named "Freedom."  What a cutie pie.

Daddy, save me!

LOVE Baby Freedom!

After the petting zoo, we headed to the big red barn.  The kids made corn cob dolls, made and sampled apple cider, washed clothes with the old fashioned washing machine, and rode the wooden horse.  They have such wonderful volunteers that are amazing at explaining things to the kids.

After a quick cotton candy and popcorn break, we headed out on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch to pick our pumpkins.  At Grampa's Farm, each child gets to pick out their own pumpkin for free.  The kids both had fun scanning the patch for their perfect pumpkin. They even had perfect Livi-sized pumpkins!

Nolan was excited to get a ride on the pretty black pony.  He was very confident and brave, showing no sign of the nervousness he had about this last year.  Maybe a leadline class is in our future...?!

They also had wood stamping, and an awesome corn "sand" box that our kids absolutely loved to play in.  Both of them would've stayed there for hours if we had let them.

Our final stop was the corn maze.  The whole day was so much fun.  I just can't say enough good things about Grampa's Farm.  It's so evident that they want it to be a fun and memorable experience for families.  Every single detail is so well thought out.  This will continue to be a tradition for our family for many years to come!

Sleepy, sleepy girl.
