Weekend of Celebrations!

This past weekend was our annual Pioneer/US Forestry Christmas party at Holiday Acres.  Eric and I always look forward to this night out, with the good food, drinks, door prizes, and lots of laughs with the White Elephant gift exchange. It did not disappoint, and we had a great evening out! (Which was much needed, since we haven't been out without kids since October!)

It's especially nice because my parents come up from Eau Claire to watch the kids, and we know they are in great hands.

A year or so ago, Grandpa Jim started taking Nolan to Kwik Trip early in the morning (around 6am!) as a way to get our favorite noisy early riser out of the house so everyone else could sleep in a little.  That has turned into a tradition, and every weekend my parents are here they head to out bright and early to Kwik Trip for a donut.  Nolan LOVES this! (and I think Grandma and Grandpa do, too!)

We also tackled our gingerbread house decorating on Saturday morning.  Both the kids ate more candy than they put on the house, but it turned out cute and we had a nice time!

Grandpa Jim's Birthday was on December 5th and gave us another reason to celebrate!  We made one of his favorites - a from scratch angel food cake with fluffy white frosting.  Everybody enjoyed it, but Livi couldn't shovel it in fast enough, and ate two whole pieces in a matter of moments.  She definitely has a sweet tooth!

It was a fun (and full) weekend, but we enjoyed spending time together and celebrating some of favorite December traditions!
